a lot of debate about live and dangerous actually being live isn't there? some say its had no touch ups while others say there are lots.
i've seen interviews with gorham and he said a lot of the guitar was overdubbed.

don't really like live albums. the only one i own is:
slade alive.
cheap tricks live at budakon was not bad either.

can't stand it when there is crowd particiaption on an album, so boring.

I'm not keen on that either. Some are better than others but it's all essentially fluff.

The Past... Or am I?
I really can't believe no one mentioned Stop Making Sense yet.

i hated it when queen would do a medley, doing that is rubbish. i actually think that some of the tunes they sampled in the medley were simply too hard for them to play all the way thru'.
they just played a little bit of the easier parts.

too many hits, they have to play them in a medley?
unfortunately queen ended up being a hit record, singles band, for many years.
i don't wanna hear seven seas of rhye if its only a part of the song. they just become throwaway songs.

i like the idea of just playing an album all the way thru' at a concert.

There have been alot of really good live albuns over the years, but I still think Maiden's "Live After Death" is still tops. I think it comes closer to documenting the "live" sound and energy than anything I've heard.

At the least it is a genuine document of Maiden's live performances.

The reissue version with the live cuts from Hammersmith, London is even better.

Wow! I was a little surprised going through this list to find that only one person mentioned The Rolling Stones "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out." The Stones in '69 were near the top of their game and live songs like "Midnight Ramber" "Jumping Jack Flash" are tough to beat (unless you listen to A Brussels Affair from 1972). That live album blows my socks off every time I listen to it. (Obviously I may be a little biased here, as you can tell by my signature). But hey...the album just flat out rocks.

I'd have to say Johnny Cash "Live from Folsom Prison" is another one that belongs near the top of this list.

Rock on...
