the 80s music was not exactly what I listened to on a regular basis,but I thought Kingdom Come keep the rock alive as well as Loverboy - although Loverboy strayed towards being a little poppy.

ABBA, Fleetwood Mac (more 70s I guess, but listened to them more in the 80s)
My sister is 14 years older than me and took me to my first concert - Kiss in 1980 - so my tastes changed to stuff like Kiss, Bon Jovi and the Crue

KISS 1980?? That would be like Eric Carr's first go around with the band. I always thought that would be an interesting tour to check them out on. Maybe not the best, but one of the more interesting. The whole Dynasty/Unmasked era.

In the eighties my life was very different than it was in the seventies but I still listened to the same music.
I was mostly just following my favorite 70's acts who had managed to survive in the 80's. Even throughout the 80's, I mostly despised the typical 80's radio fare. I was a huge metal head & did a metal show on the radio through the entire decade, so I was a big supporter of all the thrash & crossover bands of the era. There were a select few college radio bands I followed, but they were all mostly obscure indie bands like Uncle Green, I Love You, Grapes of Wrath, EIEIO, etc...
Oddly enough, here I am in 2012 & I'm a long standing member of a regional 80's band in the southeast. Irony?
