I thought I had a Nugent live album, and I do, but it's probably the wrong one, it's called 'Intensities in 10 Cities' and is actually pretty naff as I recall, I should probably get 'Live Gonzo'

Tough task nwobhm but here are my 3.

3. Ted Nugent Double Live Gonzo

2. April Wine Live!

1. UFO Strangers in the Night has always been my fave live record,,,let's see I've owned it since it came out about 35 years ago now.

3 great choices LG which I can say about everyone else here but the reason I'm commenting on your choices is because of ...April Wine Live! I don't know if it makes my top 3 but I love that record. I think I mentioned it on this forum years ago but I always loved "Mama it's True" I don't know why it's just your basic rocking tune but I just love it. Is there a studio version of that anywhere? I think I have just about everything by them & don't have it on any other records. Anyway, great choice...now time to dig through my vinyl for it!

It's good to see so many people liking Strangers In The Night.
My next favorite live double album is Tokyo Tapes by Scorpions who still had Ulrich Roth on guitar at that time.
Lotus by Santana was released in the US as a live double album. No third record and no fancy cover but the music is still great.

My three fave live albums would have to be:

Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road

Sam Cooke - Live At The Harlem Square Club 1963

I'll have to check Bucky but I do think there is a studio version, it would have to be on one of their first 3 records.

Some really good choices all around so far, Thin Lizzy and Skynyrd are both in my top ten all time live albums.

And my compliments TS for mentioning Little Feat...Waiting for Columbus is a gem.:grinthumb

Just a couple I play a fair bit are as follows...
ACDC - if you want blood
KISS - alive 3
SLADE - Slade on Stage & Alive
POISON - live raw and uncut
ALICE COOPER - Live at Montreaux
AEROSMITH - A little south of sanity
WHITESNAKE - Live in the shadow of the blues.....and on a local thought, a band I used to go watch in the 90's in Northern NSW...Bourbon Street....similar to Thunder, didnt get 1/1000th of the success they deserved

Top 3 is too tough. Status Quo Live! is my favourite album ever, so many great live albums though. UFO, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Stones, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Motorhead, The Who, Oasis. Can't do it.

Most of the live stuff I listen to is lossless ROIO"S, but three indispensable officially released live albums for me are:

Live At Leeds- The Who
Tribute- Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads
4 Way Street- Crosby Stills Nash and Young
