Thanks for making me feel welcome guys:)

I am into 90s bands with female lead singers, when matched with watery, distorted chords. LTC, Veruca, Garbage, L7, Breeders, Cranberries, The Cardigans, The Gits, pretty much everything but Hole.

You just named more of my favourite bands. lol Have you ever listened to the Dollyrots? My daughter loves them and she knows all the words of ‘Because I’m Awesome’ off by heart. They are kinda like a mix of LTC, Veruca Salt and Juliana Hatfield and they are going to release a new album in September.

Here are some of their songs

Ya I forgot to list them, as well as the Donnas. Good music tastes :3
Im mostly big on Nirvana, Flaming Lips, AIC and Modest mouse at the moment, also turned on to 2:54 by someone here on the forum. The Dollyrots are a little more poppy than I like, but they have a few non-pseudo feministic punk tracks im into like Brand New Key. I've never met someone who is a fan of them, here or otherwise due to the weird punk-pop fusion in modern music. ^-^ They are very talented, Kelly is like a 25 year old version of Nina Gordon.

The Dollyrots would have been huge if they were around in the nineties and I can’t believe they have not had a big hit in your country. I didn’t know about them until my Hubby found them on youtube a few years ago and my Baby Girl really took to them so we ordered their albums. She likes rock bands with female singers and she is a big Avril fan and has Flyleaf, Paramore, Halestorm, Grace Potter, Girl In A Coma, Hey Monday, Best Coast and Orianthi albums in her collection and I have encouraged her to listen to that genre instead of the horrible music some of her friends play like Justin Beaver. :heheh:

My friends say we spoil her rotten and they are right but she has been going really well at school and I am so proud of everything she has achieved this year!! My daughter is autistic and she is extremely advanced for her age and has been doing year five level work at her new school. If she continues she might become the youngest girl in Australia to get a high school certificate but we aren’t pushing her ‘cause she has been through a lot this year and doesn’t any pressure.

My Hubby and I both have big music collections and he is into Uriah Heep, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, Foreigner, UFO, April Wine, Todd Rundgren and Night Ranger and I am always going through his CDs and he is always going through mine. lol I never really liked Nirvana but I like Flaming Lips and I have seen the Donnas live a few years ago when they toured Australia and I met the lead singer and guitarist.
