Re: Chevelle

Wonder What's Next is one of my all time favorite albums. Their follow-up This Type of Thinking is amazing too. I'm seeing them with Evanescence next month. Can't wait.
Their coming here to C.T with Ev.. Trying so hard to get $ to buy them tickets. BTW why is Chevelle in the Metal section? They're more like Alt Rock

I have no idea. At the most, they're hard rock. After their first two albums they kinda went more alternative rock. I'm going to the Pittsburgh show August 28th btw.

Re: Chevelle

The majority of my music is 60s and 70s on vinyl. Add some cassettes of hair bands and a lot of metal in the 80s (most cars then still had cassette players).
I was missing the 90s and 2000s so I decided to fill that void.
Some of the bands I found that I liked are:
Monster Magnet
I Mother Earth
Chevelle
Disturbed
Down
Orange Goblin
Three Days Grace

I believe I have all of Chevelle's CDs starting with Point #1 from 1999 up to Hats Off To The Bull from 2011. I have been listening to them at least every other day for awhile now but have not put them in any order yet.
So far I'm liking "Wonder What's Next", "Sci-Fi Crimes" and "This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In" but "Vena Sera" keeps popping up.
I don't know a lot about catagories but I recall Hard Rock, New Metal and Alternative Metal being used to describe this band.

BTW - I like classic cars and Chevy's are among my favorites but my user name came from the band, not the car.

I like Chevelle. I've been listening to them now for several years. I'm glad you picked them up, Riffy.

They sound good. Reminds me slightly of bands like Deftones.
