a Bump for The Saints... Australian punk rock ! I allways thought they were Punk/Garage Rock. They did some very cool stuff!

I thought the Saints were a rock band that either jumped on or were thrown on the punk rock bandwagon, like The Stanglers, Motors, Television, Magazine and others, but were too good (ie. musical) to be punk rock. I've got a vague memory of a friend enthusing about them, when they toured here just before punk rock took off in the UK, possibly as a support for a band like XTC.

their early stuff was very much punk from that time. vocals that raised a ruckus, fast tempo, rip roaring guitar. etc.
the road they traveled was really kinda Punk/Garage Rock/Rock.
