I was talking to someone the other day who remembers back in the day being at the front of the stage pulling at Rorys jeans, must have been starry eyed, I would have been:)

It's strange the amount of people that i have met around London in the past that have some sort of "connection" with "the man" who played the battered '61 fender Strat??.

One guy told me back in 1990 that he had been given a check-shirt personally from Rory, another guy told me around the sametime that Rory was responsible for introducing his mother to his father and getting them together(??) and if that wasn't enough several (Irish) fella's drinking in London pubs during the 1990s claimed to be related to him??.

I don't listen to his solo albums anymore (maybe the 2-Taste albums sometimes?) but his status within the rock world seems to get BIGGER AND BIGGER with every passing year!!.

BULLFROG BLUES... :D

Here is a recent photo of Rod De'Ath Rory's drummer for a lot of years. He's had a lot of bad luck in the past but seems to be OK now :grinthumb

I have quite a few LPs by Rory Gallagher on vinyl. Basically everything from the first Taste LP in 1969 through Photo-Finish in 1978. I stopped buying vinyl in the late seventies.
I am glad that I was able to see him three times here in SoCal.
The first time was at the Long Beach arena where he opened (and blew everyone away) and was followed by Fleetwood Mac (before Nicks and Buckingham) then the headliner, Deep Purple.
The next year was at the Shrine Auditorium where he opened for Rush (that show is a bit foggy to this day).
The third and best time was an outdoor festival at the L.A. Coliseum in August 1976.
The event was put on by Chrysalis records and featured the label's top bands; Jethro Tull, Robin Trower, Rory Gallagher and Starcastle. I was fortunate enough to have back stage passes and even more fortunate to meet Rory and talk to him for about ten minutes. He had a laid back personality and was soft spoken which was the opposite of the energy he had on stage.
Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore's various works were among my all-time favorite music back in the day.
It is sad that Gallagher, Lynott and Moore are all three gone now.
