^^No they haven't and it's disappointing they've done 2 vinyl reissues of Aqualung but not any of the others.

I'll keep scouring my local shops, and hope I get lucky.

Hey Mr. Camel, I'd like to ask you a question regarding Amazon.com's used vinyl if I might. I, like LG, tend to gravitate toward sound quality rather then collecting the original pressings ( to each their own though, I respect that too ). There are however a number of old LPs I'm interested in that have not been re-issued here of late and are next to, if not outright, impossible to hunt down, new.

My question is, in your opinion, what condition are the amazon.com LP's that are rated good and very good in, so far as the vinyl sound quality itself is concerned, in your experience (generally speaking of course ) ?

And by the way, nice to see another wax freak at the forum :D

Well, I'm not a big sound quality person, as you said, I'm much more about original labels. As anyone knows the sound of a lot of older vinyl is much 'warmer' than newer vinyl. That is how I hear it atleast.

As for the grading on vinyl there, it really depends on the seller you're buying from, how it was handled with the previous owner. One person (usually people who aren't collectors) could grade something as very good but in reality it could only be good. For example, I ordered a Black Sabbath lp, used, and it was listed as very good but the seller failed to mention the water stain on the back and the name written on the label.

When buying used vinyl online it is like gambling, you either get lucky or you don't. A good tip would be to find a seller and look at his ratings, feedback, and sometimes they'll have something on their page telling you about their business. You have to find the right person to buy from, preferably one that knows what they're doing.

I hope that helps...

I just got my copy of Uriah Heep's Salisbury, with original red Mercury label. It plays and looks excellent! Just as the seller described.

And another tip, used vinyl online, if it is rare I can almost guarantee it will cost a lot of money. A copy of an original label 'Ziggy Stardust' cost $44.00!!

Good luck hunting. :****:

I was going more for the actual wear and tear on the vinyl itself. However if Amazon is leaving it up to the sellers to grade them I guess I will either have to take a chance on one or two or just by pass the entire Used LP section at Amazon. I'll probably give it a whirl.

Thanks...
