I had said in the Lemmy thread that the Beasties were the ONLY rap act that I bought everything by. Not only part of the soundtrack for many, but they had a sound that was all their own. You can't always put your finger on it but it was there. Their rap was was like metal rap much of the time.

I've seen them live twice and they put on a helluva show.

R. I. P. Adam :uh:

Aaahhh... this explains why The Beastie Boys were on the radio at work like 4 times yesterday.

Damn shame.

dang really? R.I.P MCA, a shame right before their R&R hall of fame induction, one of my favorite rappers too, the raspy voice is a trademark. just got finished marathoning my 20 song collection of the BB.

I'm glad they were honored before his passing. :)
Yeaah. I almost cried when I heard he had died, but I remembered he was inducted in the R&RHOF a couple of weeks ago so I suddenly felt a bit better, as his carreer was recognized before he passed away (something not many artists can say). I love the Beastie Boys, specially the fun you can have listening to their records. Its got great clean humour and none of that "gangsta" thing I hate about rap music. It basically rock&roll but instead of singing, there's rapping.

RIP Adam Yauch.
