Tough choices but gotta go with Jeff Beck. He's amazing, but not as amazing as Jimmy Page, who's better than all three of these guys.

I disagree. Granted, Jimmy Page had a really good run with Led Zeppelin. I'd still have to go with Jeff Beck over Jimmy, however, for these two reasons:

1. The output of the Yardbirds with Jeff Beck as the lead guitarist e.g. "Heart Full of Soul", "Over, Under, Sideways, Down", "Still I'm Sad", etc. was far superior to their output with Jimmy Page as the lead guitarist e.g. "Little Games", "Ten Little Indians", "Ha Ha Said the Clown", etc.

2. Jeff Beck has continued to experiment and expand the boundaries of guitar playing in the last 25 years. Jimmy Page has done little in comparison. Part of this may be due to Jeff having escaped the drug problems with which Jimmy was plagued.

This is the hardest competition so far! I am choosing Pete Townshend. I loved The Who. He is a very gifted songwriter and vocalist as well as guitarist. When you take into account his hearing loss, I think this makes him stand out as the supreme of the three choices.

His work and direction on the broadway musical Tommy is outstanding!

Jeff Beck has stated he was inspired by Townshend. :)

I'm not voting because I can't decide, I like Blackmoore's playing with purp and Rainbow, but I hate the whole Blackmoore Night or whatever, I don't like a good amount of the Who's music, but Townsend is one of the best writers in my book, and how is writing can influence others... Tommy (album) specifically, and well, i don't like beck at all, he is incedibly good but I don't like anything he has done

Do you not like Yarbirds' tracks such as "Heart Full of Soul" and "Over, Under, Sideways, Down"? How about "Infatuation" by Rod Stewart and "Mustang Sally" by Buddy Guy, both of which have Jeff playing lead guitar?
