Probably my favourite piece of modern technology is my Pure Evoke internet radio. At long last, doing the washing up in the kitchen is a pleasure....

However, I'm still looking for a 'perfect' Classic Rock station. To my mind, 'classic rock' is primarily a) British and b) late 60s to mid 70's but many of the stations billing themselves as classic rock will insist on playing the likes of Police, Jam, Springsteen, Adams, Collins etc.

Can anyone suggest a station - as advert and DJ free as possible - where I can get a healthy and prolonged dose of Purple, Heep, Rush etc?

As well as rock, I like oldies in general and can heartily recommend 'Flower Power Radio'. A quite superb station.

Regards to all.

Well to me, the likes of The Police, Springsteen, Adams, etc is classic rock as well as Purple, Heep and Rush. So therefore, anything I recommend you will probably not consider a good station. ;)

Thanks all, especially gguerra - your first link led me to Sky.FM Classic Rock which, at first glance, is quality fare. There's a helluva selection within the Sky.FM range of stations so I'll be adding their Blues, 60's and 70's channels to my 'favourites'.

JerseyGirl - no offence, honest! I can see you're a big BS fan but, with the exception of watching Courtney Cox in his video, he's not my cup of tea.

That's fine, no offense taken. :D But he is classic rock...along with The Police, Bryan Adams, Foreigner, Boston, Van Halen, Blondie, The Cars, etc.

Simple answer...None.

I can barely listen to YT videos in the forum, so internet radio is off the grid for me.;)

This may be a silly question but have you tried out Pandora yet? You can tweak it to your liking lessen your run ins with the vanilla bands you don't like and more of the harder stuff you prefer. It's the best.

^^No Jen,,,I am not being Aloof or Arrogant about internet radio stations or any other online streaming music sources...I am over 200+ albums behind of music in my library, I barely have time to listen to a few YT vids in the forum otherwise I will be playing my CD's.

Simply a matter of time and not having enough of it.
