Re: Marillion!

. I thought those Fish albums were channeling Genesis, whereas with Hogarth, the band have developed their own signature sound.

I've only heard precious little of Marillion's music, but what I did sounded almost exactly like Genesis. Even the vocals were a dead ringer for Gabriel!

Not scared off, though. Still want to check out more of their stuff. Can't believe I lived through the 80s and never heard of them. Would have gladly traded my Night Ranger and Europe this style of music.

Just Fish era for me, did argue with a chap at the first high voltage festival, i might have. Stipend before but will again just in case others haven't read it. As we walked away from the prog stage to go to the metal stage or main stage, there was this chap sat under a tree and he shouted to us, " you are not leaving are you cos the greatest prog band in the world are coming on next " to which my friend shouted back something like " why are Yes coming on " the chap swore at us and then I said, " they are nothing without Fish " and he swore at me too. Wouldn't get up to fight tho lol:)

^^Are you a concert Hooligan Sweaty?....:oyea:

I have to agree, I am a definite fan of the Fish era Marillion more than the Hogarth era, and I have given post-Fish Marillion a thorough going over to be fair.

^^I've run into the type myself over the years, usually a few ales or strong drink are involved in their bravado...:D

Sox was telling me you will be catching Sabbath next year...I am a little jealous of course but at the same time used to you two seeing everyone who has ever toured.

:heheh:

^^There might be at that, but Sox was "chuffed" at the opportunity to see Sabbath re-united, I was chatting to him on Yahoo while you two made your plans to go at any cost.:heheh:
