Would I be correct in assuming those pictures were circa 1971, gcc?

Yes they are... 40 years ago today they played the Shiei Taikuhan in Hiroshima. The pics were taken before the gig I believe. You can tell by the look on Jonesy's face the compassion he probably felt for the folks affected by it.
