Roger McGuinn is an incredible guitar player with his Ric.

Hey I'm glad there's some support for that guitar - perhaps if there's an awards thread made to reckonise those people who should be reckonised for the Guitar they use - Roger McGuinn should get it for the Rickenbacker! :-D I don't know a lot about Guitars unfortunately so if everyone knows of every Guitar around in the 60s it would be interesting to see something like that.

You could have best:

Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Rickenbacker, Heavy Metal Guitar, Electric Guitar, Sitar, so on and so on. But then you'd probably have to go though all the different kinds - sorry I really am showing now, how much I know about Guitars!
But still I try to appreciate it even if I don't know a great deal about the varieties available! :-o

A Rickenbacker is a an ordinary 6 string (most guitar players from then that used this guitar had a 12 string) that usually brings out a high, twangy tone that was popular for 60s pop groups. Lots of musicians come to mind when I think of Ric's. (Entwistle, Lennon, Harrison, Townshend, McGuinn)

Okay yes I can confirm that what McGuinn used is a 12 String - someone was calling it a Rickenbacker though at least I read about it somewhere?? :-o But as you probably know I don't know a great deal about my Guitars! :-(

For some reason though the Byrds stand out Musically when it comes to that high twangy tone though! :-o
