Getting more into The Who since joining. Not sure who made the recommendation. Memory fades with age. I used to despise them.

I've been on a serious Who kick recently. However in my case I've never despised them. :heheh:

So after much curiosity thanks to that lovely Lady aka CRF's resident Sparks fanatic, I finally found one of their albums and had to get it.

^^^ I'm with you on that one, MP, though I haven't purchased it yet.

I am going to be putting some money into Imogen Heap, thanks to Ember.

I nabbed that one too. I'm on the fence about it right now though. I don't dislike it but it's not the Blue October that I know and love from "Foiled".

It's very rewarding to influence anyone to purchase something or consider purchasing something that I know has grabbed me in such a cool way. Metal, keep me updated on how you like it, Laurel, let me know if you do end up getting it and Cosmic, Foiled was my first purchase by them but it wasn't there that the group really got under my skin so I guess any comparison in style to "Foiled" aren't an influence on me as much! Hope you like it a little more with each listen! :cheers2

I like it....and I'm sure I will like it more with each spin. However I liked Approaching Normal right away on first spin, so much so that I played it at least 3 times in a row.

STAY, The Chills, The Getting Over It, The Worry List and The Follow Through all grabbed me right off.

I guess I should have expected a little oddness to it since it is a vent album, and rightly so.

I am trying FOILED next. :grinthumb

Sweet dude, I'm glad you liked Approaching Normal as much as you did! That album was my gateway to them and was one I listened to multiple times at first! :grinthumb The oddness with Any Man In America may have to do with the genre hopping as well which is what they did more with this album than any other particularly the hip-hop R&B influence. Good list of songs from that album ranging from the great chorus of The Chills to the great touching Worry List! :grinthumb
