Re: Bob Dylan

I have to admit that I like Dylan more now than ever before, probably a result of exposure to his numerous hard core fans in the forum more than anything else...:heheh:

Re: Bob Dylan

I got my first Bob Dylan album some time between Christmas and March and I never really connected with it. Then in May I found myself sat in Manchester Academy 2 listening to some music playing on the huge speakers while we waited in eager anticipation for Roger Waters to come out and perform The Wall. I was lazily daydreaming about no particular thing, singing cheerfully along to the song that was currently playing when my girlfriend asked me "what song is this?" It happened to be Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 and it was in that moment that I realized "I LOVE BOB DYLAN!!!"

Now I'm ready to embark on a journey through his works. I've been addicted to Blonde On Blonde for quite some time now and recently added Freewheelin' to my collection. I'm loving it!

I'd add one of my favourite Dylan songs (so far) to this post but it seems everything on YouTube has "been made unavailable in [my] country". But it would have been "One Of Us Must Know (Sooner Or Later)".

Great story Luke.
So many good Dylan albums to chose from.
Some that you won't hear as much about but are some of his best works are

Oh Mercy
Modern Times
New Morning
Slow Train Coming

^^Fixed the video for you Vulcan.

"Biggest Vocalist in this world...",,,I have to disagree he is Unique and has achieved legendary status deservedly so, but his voice is not even in my top 50 of all time for folk/rock artists. A big art of what made him so good was his songwriting and the fact he had "The Band" to support him when he toured years ago.

Still I don't mind Dylan, I like him more now than when I was a youngster.
