Good list...I wouldn't consider Aerosmith and Van Halen to be in the list. Twisted Sister is ranked a little to high.

This list is a joke. Several bands on it are not hair bands and several that are hair bands have no place on it.

Besides, I don't much care for the term "hair" band.....

Yeah a couple of these bands maybe lumped into the sound to fit with the times, but it wasn't a constant.

I agree...KISS, Aerosmith, Halen...may have dabbled but are not 100% authentic to that scene.

I also would remove Enuff Z'Nuff for sure....their first album look, was more of a european, 70's glam thing mixed with the heavy metal 60's sound...but they progressed SOOOO much after the first album and toned down the image by the second release. It got more and more street as time went on...and they didn't play the grunge card either.

Angel?? A 70's band, who had great songs, were pretty to look at and had a killer stage show? Good musicians, but hair metal wasn't out yet in the 70's. I can swallow them being an inspiration though. As well as the New York Dolls.

It's nice to see Angel,Dolls and Enuff Z'Nuff getting recognized on any list though. But if that's the case...

Where the hell is STARZ???

:mad :hm:

Weird list, quite a few borderline cases and several that aren't even close.

Also...

MP and Rock Candy.. I was going through my head a list of bands that I wondered why they weren't on the list too.. But look at the title of the article.. TOP 40 Bands of all time!!!

That means STARZ and Blue Murder didn't make the list..:heheh:
So IMO.. Just another one of those where did they come up with this list thing??

If Glam was apart of the choosing, and Alice is a hair band???.. then so would Edgar Winter or T-Rex to name a couple.. But they seemed to name every band during the late 70's and 80's that was popular. They left out STEELHEART.. They should have at least made the top 10..
