Oh if there is a god please let it be so. They say they go in threes--If this is so--PLEASE take Jessy Beaver too!

Wishing death upon innocent people -- children, even -- is a wondrous trait for a human being to possess.

^^I agree we are talking about musicians here, not people that have done anyone any harm.

I was tempted to edit both comments, that I feel are in bad taste but seeing the majority of us have some compassion for Amy we far outweigh the mean spirited minority.

From what I read "Back To Black" has re-entered the Billboard charts after a 3 year absence with it reaching as of #9 right now.

It's a strange phenomenon, for sure. But it could mostly just be the publicity. She's in the news, people who love her are talking about her, praising her music... so people go and check it out. I remember seeing Back to Black on VH1 the day after she passed, I'm sure all kinds of stations and venues are playing her music more. It's probably the most exposure she's ever had.

I'll never understand the "sudden" attraction to music after someone dies.

I don't think i'll ever understand that either, considering the people who "suddenly" get into the music, won't ever get to see it performed live. There are other factors that go into it, but that's one that has always stuck out to me.

Depends. The sudden attraction mostly comes from the record labels and major radio stations. It is pretty much all about money. However...
Do you remember the day when Dio died? The prices of his albums hasn't increased, his songs with Sabbath, Rainbow, Elf or solo were not played on radio (even if, not as much as Amy Winehouse or Michael Jackson). Metal fans accepted the fact, that he died and will remain as a legend.
And when it comes to Jackson and Winehouse, those hyaenas from major record labels are very keen on someone's death. New Winehouse album apparently is about to be released and yet the number of Jackson greatest hits is still growing. I do hope case of Winehouse will be the same as Dio - happened and forgotten (about death).
