What's the ambience like Sox? How is it laid out, the acoustics, sight lines, seating, etc.? It sounds like a great venue.

The sound is fantastic, it was built in 1903 and renovated in 1979, 902 seater designed for Opera about four tiers, with the boxes for the well to do. The band seem like they are in the next seat brilliant.

We have a similar venue here Victoria Sox. Built in 1913 and has a seating capacity of 1434 and excellent acoustics. However we never get any good R&R artist to play here. I've seen Stevie Ray Vaughn and CSN there, that's it. Really, a shame.

They must have been something else Joe, I have seen neither live.. but both acts are top dollar IMO, I love the smaller venues the intimacy is priceless the big arena's are just real cold in comparison.

This one is a belter Joe but as good as Dave Walker was I do prefer Chris Youlden as the frontman.:grinthumb

Real good album, beside the songs posted already - ''Stay While The Night Is Young'' and the instrumental ''Is That So'' are great tunes, also.

Along with ''A Hard Way To Go'' and ''When I Was A Young Boy'', these are my 4 favorites from ''Raw Sienna''

This album is due for a-listening over the weekend! :phones:

Right on Groovy. Just listened to A Step Further a couple of days ago. Kim Simmonds is another often overlooked guitarist. After vocalist Chris Youldan left the band was never the same IMO.

Just my opinion, I preferred Savoy Brown after Kim Simmonds took over. I saw them 3 times and they were great every time. Wire Fire is my favorite album. Not taking away from any of them, I am, and have been for more than 35 years, a huge Savoy Brown fan!

One of the few old blues rock bands that I don't have a single album in the collection...:peek

Any recommendations of the absolutely beyond any doubt knock your socks off best Savoy Brown album from our fans in the forum?
