Re: The OFFICIAL Led Zeppelin Thread

Well, now I guess we have a rough idea of what Zeppelin would have sounded like if Plant was up for the reformation. Shame Page and JPJ didn't take this one any further, but hey, what we get is nothing short of brilliant.

Your screen handle struck a note... Then I remembered why:

Actually, my screen handle originated from Greek mythology but hey, a Zep boot is fine by me.:cheers2

I actually have to admit Coda is a pretty average album, I just don't get the same level of enjoyment out of this album as the rest.
It is a good album but not great.

I deleted Houses Of The Holy from my MP3 player yesterday, the Ocean would be the strongest song on it,but not enough to save it.

Say whaaat? That's my favorite Zeppelin album! I agree The Ocean is a strong song, but what about No Quarter or The Song Remains the Same? Or The Rain Song or my absolute favorite Over the Hills and Far Away? :wa

Re: The OFFICIAL Led Zeppelin Thread

I don't like Robert Plant's vocals throughout the album,The only song on the album that I really think is a good Zeppelin Tune would be The Ocean. The Crunge and D'Yer Maker are awful songs.I have Led Zeppelin I II III IV,How The West Was Won,Physical Graffiti,The Complete BBC Sessions(the 4 disc bootleg version) and several boots of Led Zepp on my MP3 to keep me going.I am into Led Zeppelin in a big way,I just don't like Houses of the Holy,or their later albums.Early live Led Zeppelin is hard to beat, when you start listening to their boot's,it's hard to go back to listening to their studio albums.

Seriously? I'd say just the opposite. The bootlegs I've heard are incredibly sloppy, especially Page, but Plant also can't hit the notes and missing the phrasing on a lot of songs. I'd rather never hear another Zep bootleg again but still like most of the studio stuff (except most of presense and lz3)

Presence is wayyyy better than ITTOD!

And LZ III is fantastic. What is WRONG with you? :heheh:

You must be listening to some pretty bad boots, change your supplier.I have been listening to the 2 disc Official BBC Sessions for years,I recently got the Bootleg version,I would never listen to the Official version again.I'd say that Plant isn't missing the phrasing of the songs,he just might be improvising. Most of the boots I have sound OK to me,there's only so many times you can listen to the same studio albums over and over again, boots are a good way of beefing up your collection of a certain band, each time it will be just a little bit different.
