It's even poppier than Make Believe? I loved that album! Honestly, my least favorite Weezer album is Pinkerton but many disagree! :heheh:

I liked "Make Believe". I got into Weezer through the song "Perfect Situation" and then "Beverly Hills". While I wasn't blown away by "Raditude" I wouldn't say it was terrible...just not their best work. I think my least favorite Weezer album is "Maladroit".

I'll admit, one thing that will kill a band or artist for me faster than anything is when they open their big friggin' mouths and start spouting about politics, social issues and how we need to change ourselves because they are celebs and have the media's ear and soapbox to stand on and spout from. I don't care if it's an actor, musician, artist, etc. STFU and do your job. Drop some political undertones in your music, I can deal with some of it. When you get preachy on my ass, I'm done with you. Bruce and several other celebs have gotten that way to me over the past 10+ years and it's annoying as hell.

I don't mind a good protest or political song actually I enjoy them more than something poppy... or the likes of say John Melloncamp bring awareness to the plight of the farmer. It's the Janeane Garofalos and the Charlie Sheens of the world that bug the shit out of me. Yeah??? I'll listen to Charlie... the high school drop out, drug addict spewing his 9-11 truth'r garb:banghead:

I'm with you guys, I can handle political undertones in a song, but nowadays they're not talented about it. I mean, you listen to Fortunate Son, it's a good song, even if you disagree with the message. But nowadays, entire albums are devoted to political issues, and the lyrics aren't even good. They're just a DailyKos blog post backed to a rhythm essentially.

I didn't realise Springsteen had 2 albums prior to "Born to Run", but I'm familiar with "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)" cause I've got a cover of it by the Hollies - which do a good job singing it, so I don't know how Springsteen compares. Some of Springsteen's music is a bit of a hit and miss for me though! :(
