Released in 1997, it was the first strong album that he had released since 1976's "Desire." One of the top 5 best albums of his career, in my never humble opinion.
That makes me sad! One of the radio hits that got on my nerves like no other. Might not be as bad if I heard it now since I don't listen to radio anymore but it's ruined for me forever now. Also, I get that Santana is a great guitar player but I think it's hypocritical that he didn't get the sellout card like every other artist when that album was as much of gimmick album as anything. Get all the current music star power you can get and get Santana to do a bunch of random guitar licks he could probably do in his sleep. O.K. I'm done!
I'd agree with John Fogerty's Centrefield being a very good comeback record.
The tunes were played a lot on radio at that time and they deserved to be.
