Love Joe Walsh. Grew up listening to alot of the James Gang, solo stuff and Eagles. I have alot of vinyl: the 3 James Gang studios, live album and double LP greatest hits, and about 4 studio solo albums and the "Sick Mind" live album.

The James Gang albums were in rotation on the local FM station back in the day as well as his Barnstorm album so it was easy for me to become a fan! I got to see him in `73` when he toured "The Smoker" album and then again a year later at The Ozark Music Festival.

I went to a Joe Walsh concert in the 70's that REO Speedwagon was the backup band. I went to see REO, because I really like Gary Richrath's guitar playing. It was after Joe Walsh & Barnstorm(early 70's), but well before The Eagles. Anyway, Walsh's guitar playing was superior to Richrath's, that night anyway. Great concert by Walsh and REO! I always liked the James Gang and Barnstorm, but after that show, I respected Walsh's professionalism so much more!

Joe does a great job on playing "Life In The Fast Lane" - really holds that song together with the Eagles. Not too shabby when he does that song solo as well.

Also, I know at least one recovering alcoholic who looks to this Joe Walsh song for inspiration. Even as someone who doesn't really suffer from any addictions, I find this song quite powerful.
