^^Not big on awards except as a gesture of respect to a deserving band or artist, but at least we give them some well deserved love up here.:D

Personally the guy who filmed that documentary deserves an award his two metal documentaries and now this one about Rush are all excellent.

Can't think of his name right now, but he lives in Victoria, MP will know.

You know I really have to agree with this. I have dozens of great rock band/concert DVD's, and this strikes me as being probably one of the 2 or 3 best I ever bought, along with the Metallica 'Some Kind of Monster' and maybe the Springsteen 'Live in NYC'. Rush come across as the very best of friends, it's quite a heart-warming film, though Neil Peart's reluctance to be in the limelight is very obvious, as he doesn't take much of a part compared with Geddy and Alex. The best part of the film is towards the end when the 3 guys all sit down to have dinner together, they are such naturally amusing people there are dozens of genuine laugh out loud moments, and you really warm to this band watching this, even if you hated their music (which I don't!!) it would be very hard not to love Rush unless you were a pretty dull individual, it deserves all the awards and praise it can get.

I love this RUSH DVD as well.

@ LG: Sam Dunn is the dude's name who directed this as well as Metal Journey, Flight 666 and all that.

He's really good!!

@ The Sound: I agree the dinner scene is the greatest! I love the clips at the end, but the uncut dinner from the bonus features is worth the buy all by itself. (There really are laugh out loud moments) :grinthumb

I'm not big on awards either but it would be nice once in a while for Rush to get what they deserve. YYZ was nominated for a Grammy way back when and lost to The Police's Behind My Camel. One listen to each song and it is quite obvious there is more at play here than meets the ears. It's downright comical. This year they lose to The Doors who have not done anything relevant in 40 years. No offense to Doors fans but we know the story and have for a long time now. Last I heard, Rush played a show In Ireland last night. Nevertheless, I too love the documentary and the bonus disc. Wish I could have been the waiter at that hunting lodge.

Agree with all the previous comments. I am surprised that Rush agreed to participate in this documentary, but I am sure glad they did. Movie was very well made and if anything might make a few people take notice of how successful Rush has been over the past 35+ years. Even if you hate the bands music, you must admit they have had a great career.

rightfully so. There is some incredible footage on that. The Rutsey shows, Lerxt telling his parents he's gonna quit school, the bonus videos. Love it.
