England's "Japan" was a post-punk experimental group form the late 70s.

Also, I can't believe you guys haven't mentioned "The New York Dolls"

Songs:

All The Way To Memphis - Mott The Hoople
Memphis - Chuck Berry/Johnny Winter/Faces
A Passage To Bangkok - Rush
California Dreamin' - Mamas And The Papas
Hotel California - Eagles
(A lot of songs about California)
California Girls - Beach Boys
Going To California - Led Zeppelin
London Calling - Clash
Strawberry Fields Forever - Beatles (Strawberry Field was an actual place near where John and Paul grew up)
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
Anarchy In The U.K. - Sex Pistols
Waterloo Sunset - Kinks

I could think of more but I'm lazy so I'll let you guys find more.
