I didn't see a thread for this band so I thought it would be good to start one.

I think they're an amazing band that never received the acclaim they deserved.

All talented musicians and Led by Johnette Napolitano who is a great singer, songwriter and artist.

Any Concrete Blonde fans out there?

Definitely checkout Bloodletting and Mexican Moon.

Two great albums to start with.

Currently listening to the Mexican Moon album. I'm liking this a lot. Honestly. Can't figure out why I haven't heard of this band before:

Concrete Blonde never got the acclaim they should have.

They had somewhat of a hit song with "Joey" when they released the Bloodletting album.

MTV played the "Joey" video for a little while but the album itself, such a great album, did not get alot of attention from the mainstream music media, which is a shame.

Sadly, Concrete Blonde did not achieve success & notoriety even though they made first rate music, full of great songwriting, with a terrific lead singer and fine musicianship in the band.

The music business like life, isn't always fair.

That's definitely a shame. This band has a lot of talent, it's truly sad that some of the greater bands don't get the notoriety they deserve. Though, there are some bands who don't want the exposure. Thrice for example, they are a top band, but they ask not to get exposure like other bands. I think it helps keep the "purity" of their music, if that makes sense.
