I'm kinda stuck in the 60's and 70's musically but I do like Green Day. Maybe it's a local thing but I also like The Offspring and Rancid.

My fav. would have to be Goo Goo Dolls and Allanis Morrisette. Of all the post I've seen here I havent even seen Allanis's name once.lol. Shes like Janis Joplin reborn.lol

unless you grew up in canada, in which case you'd remember her as a precursor to the britney spears types. she was our answer to tiffany back in the early 90s. if it weren't for glen ballard (who also gifted us all with wilson phillips AND paula abdul) i doubt anyone would have heard 'jagged little pill'.

She sure dropped off the map after that album. You have to give her some credit for opening the door to the entire pissed-off-chick-musician wave that came after 'pill', which included some decent music.

this is true, and i'll also cut her a bit of slack for refering to that teen pop aspect of her career in the video for '8 easy steps' or something like that. mind you i also wonder just how many people saw that video outside of canada... hehehe

for my money i'd take pj harvey over alanis morissette when it comes to pissed off chick rock (for lack of a less chauvenistic term haha)
