Re: Radiohead

"Well I couldn't disagree with you more, Andy. The fact of the matter is that 'The King of Limbs' is not the best album of the 2011, it's actually the best album of the century. Which is saying something because to this day I've still not listened to it, but I am confident that listening to it wouldn't alter my opinion one iota. It is really that great."

:fapa

That is seriously one of the dumbest things I've ever heard anyone say about music.

To be honest though, the other guy got my my nerves too. His claims were just so cocky and he abused adjectives too much.

I've not heard "The King Of Limbs" at all yet but I have to admit that I'm kind of iffy about it from what I'm hearing from people (and not just the people here). I'm either hearing overwhelmingly positive opinions like the guy in the video (not the moron who hadn't actually listened to the album) or "eh" feelings like P&C or LG.

Re: Radiohead

^^That is so utterly ridiculous it's hilarious Cosmic...:oyea:

I have still not made up my mind after 4 listens...but I can definitely say this much:

"While anticipation of a new album from one of your favorite bands is half the fun of being a music fan, you also run the risk of complete disappointment. Perhaps "King of Limbs" is the teaser, and the rest of the deluxe album will improve the overall feel of the CD, but it is nowhere near as good as OK Computer, The Bends, or Kid A at least not in my books."

I intend on playing it again today,,,but if I still don't get something that grabs me then I will most likely give up on it until the bonus material is released and try listening to it again at that time.

Re: Radiohead

I'm just going to wait until the bonus releases because after already making my opinion about the album, it doesn't really leave a lot of space for me to really try and enjoy it. However, I do like that Radiohead did release another album, that's at least something cool. If it were a great album, that would have been better, but all bands have hit and misses, and unfortunately...this is one of Radiohead's "misses".

and the last four are all good. Yeah not up there with the big three (Ok, Bends, KidA) but some of this will grow on me like all Radiohead albums do.

The lack of guitar on this album reminds me of Amnesiac although right now not as good as that album. It's also very short interested to hear the extra stuff once its released.

Re: Radiohead

^^According some of our RH experts in the forum, the last tour they made was excellent, nearly everyone feels they have really matured and put on a fantastic live show.

Now seein' CREAM'd has dusted this thread off, I will comment on "King of Limbs".

Unlike some of my best forum friends, I really like Radiohead, and have for a long time. I am also very patient, something I learned decades ago never to rush to any judgement on a new or old recording.

But I have to say that the new album has to rank as the Biggest disappointment of the year for me. The "Bonus" material did nothing to change my opinion. It's not that I hate the album, but when it comes time for my RH fix, I will not be reaching for this one very often if at all, it will go beside "Hail To The Thief" in the bottom tier of their discography.

Shame really, I had such lofty expectations and this new CD simply did not measure up.:(

Re: Radiohead

^^ That's a pity LG,I think the album is OK,but then you and others here on the forum have been listening to Radiohead for a lot longer than I have, and probably have higher standards and expectations than what I have when listening to them. When I picked up Kings Of Limb,Radiohead was still relatively new to me,so,it was the 9th Radiohead album I'd bought within the space of 8 months,so,it kinda was just like another Radiohead album to me.
