Re: Grateful Dead

This is a fantastic album. Lots of jaming and long songs, like you mentioned, but no need to worry, the jaming isn't as long as some of their other performances are known for. This live album is a good taste of what the Grateful Dead sounded like in 1969. This is a 60's classic. I highly recommend this album. It's up their with The Allman Brothers Band Live At The Fillmore East, Humble Pie's Live Fillmore East album, Hendrix's Band of Band of Gypsys live album, imo.

Exactly. Along with their debut album, my fav album by The Dead. Every psych lover should already own it :grinthumb

Re: Grateful Dead

:grinthumb Nice addition L.G :grinthumb.

That is my fave Dead album, and one that truly deserves all of the praises that it often receives. It's also one of those albums for which the transition to CD has made the listening experience even more pleasurable,as the seamless move into each track really brings the whole 'Dead in concert' experience even closer to the listener.

If you really like this L.G,which I'm sure you will, why don't you get the Triple Live at the Fillmore '69 set. It is the gigs from which the Live/Dead album was compiled from, and is awesome. And then there is the 10 cd !!!! Live at the Fillmore box set,but that collectable is very expensive!!. And to finish off there is the classic Dicks Picks Vol 4,another great gig !!.

Happy listening L.G.:)

^^That's a lot of "Live Dead" music to collect Bryter...and I can see you are another expert of the band.:grinthumb

I have to play albums a few times to really soak up what's happening, but I will keep your rec's in mind for the future.

:cheers2
