Yeah, cc just not my thing. Maybe my brain is slow HaHa! It seems that SFU has done well with this style yet i don't hear a lot of other Death and Roll or know of any other DnR bands. I had Entombed Wolverine Blues when it came out in like 94...i loved the hell out of that CD. That's the only other band that has that kind of vibe. White Zombie was a little bit DnR'ish. I haven't been that plugged into the new metal scene so...don't know of many bands with that same vibe.

I wouldn't say White Zombie has anything to do with death metal and there are a few other bands that play a death 'n' roll style like The Crown for example.

Whatever, to each their own and I don't take it personal but it just makes me chuckle when people get all anti-death metal at forums. They take it far too seriously lol

Almost forgot ! Torture Killer the Finnish Death metal band that had Barnes sing for them. They are death and roll....They were/are actually a SFU cover band before they decided to Have Barnes do some originals with them on two releases. Violent Scene of death is a good song. Good stuff !

Help ! I dont wana just bump this post but....if a moderator could move it into the "Death Metal " topic forum that would be cool.

I hold onto death metal only through SFU . Maybe people in the "Know" could turn me on to some more stuff. The less technical stuff...stoner and doom metal. There is so much of it i dont know where to start .

Thread is moved as requested, feel free to bump your threads, we are not fanatical about that sort of thing here HR.

As DKW already stated far up the page, not my kind of music.

Harkat makes a good point though, even I have learned there is a variety within the death metal genre, but I am just never going to be a fan.

That still leaves tons of metal I do like, and as for rec's DKW and CN are two very knowledgeable dark metal fans so they will have lots of bands they can turn you on to HR.

Well, so much for that. Greg Gall and Terry Butler left the band :mad

So much for me ever seeing them live in that form. Chris Barnes thinks hes going to create SFU MK3. Good luck.

Lay off the smoke man.

Start a request thread stating what kinds of stuff you are looking for exactly and I will start posting some stuff for you to check out. Death Doom and whatever else. I was not listening to Death metal for awhile ( I jump around from genre to genre and back again with all the stuff I like ) but I have been listening to Death Metal again lately so I'm cool with spending a bit of time on it right now.
