Big fan of Thin Lizzy and obviously Phil was a huge part of them since he was their voice.

It is great to see the influence not only the band had on the music world but the influence he had as well. They influenced some of my favorite bands including Mastodon and Phil was an influence on Troy Sanders (Mastodon's bassist) as well.

Wow, it's been 25 years since Phil Lynott passed? :( Imo, Phil was an extremely talented musician, singer and songwriter! He was, and also remains, both an inspiration for many musicians, and also his contributions are greatly appreciated, long lasting and important! The music of Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott have been and always will remain a huge part of me!

:rip: Phil!

:cheers2

I live in Buffalo, NY
Back in the 70's/early 80's I didn't mind them but other than Boys Are Back in Town, Jailbreak, & China Town they didn't do much for me. I like them more now. I guess I started getting into them more around the mid 80's after I picked up Gary Moore's 'Run For Cover' because I loved ''Out in the fields" which featured Lynott (I love that whole album). Also right around that time I was heavy into the NY Punk Scene stuff & I noticed on my Johnny Thunders 'So Alone' album from '78 Lynott played bass on a bunch of songs & did an amazing vocal job along with Steve Marriott on "Daddy Rollin Stone". Thunders, Lynott, & Marriott all sang a verse & if you're a fan of Lynott or especially Marriott you have to hear that song!. So anyway, the more I read about Lynott hanging out in that NYC scene with the seedy punks in the 70's the more I got into the Thin Lizzy stuff. It was almost like he was living two lifestyles between the Punk world & the rock world back then from what I had read. The 'China Town' album has really grown to be a favorite of mine

Big Phil/Lizzy fan as well - always thought he/they were criminally underrated.

One of my favorites by them - so much emotion and the guitar solos are unbelievable:
