I'm quite happy with both Stone Gods and Hot Leg because I think they're both a cut above many modern rock groups. However I think Stone Gods lack the sense of humor that Hot Leg has and Hot Leg doesn't rock as hard as Stone Gods do. They're both very good (though I do favor Hot Leg of course) but they are much better when working together.
In either case though I really like "I've Met Jesus" and I got a chuckle out of Justin's snarky responses to some comments on it.....
Also, just a fun fact, this thread is the largest band appreciation thread in the 2000's sub forum.
That is the original, very low budget music video to "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" back from the EP that it was the title track for back in 2002. It has no space ship, monstrous alien sea creatures, or much of what makes up it's much more famous predecessor. It does however have several elements that the band recycled in the latter version such as it starting off with Justin in the bathtub (however he's wearing man panties ((for most of this video)) as opposed to being naked like in the latter version), the way he passes the third guitar solo in the song to Dan, and the outro featuring a flurry of lightning.
So its been announce that both of The Darkness's offspring groups, Stone Gods and Hot Leg, are officially on hiatus and rumors about the Darkness's still unconfirmed reunion are spinning even further. From what I hear Dan Hawkins has confirmed these but there's no official announcement so I'm skeptical...
To commemorate The Darkness' reunion I think it's fitting to pick up where they left off with a stellar live version of their most recent single "Girlfriend"...
