Re: Jethro Tull

^^It's sort of confusing in a way Jeffrey, Ian has his own band, and as far as I know Tull has not been retired as of yet...:hm:

But it's over 10 years now since the last album and if he's concentrating on re-issues of older albums and his solo projects maybe we won't get anything except a "rarities and B-sides" package.

No matter what, I will always be a die hard fan easily one of my top ten artists of all time.

^^I concider myself very lucky LG, as you well know as a live outfit they take some beating. I would loved to have seen them with Barriemore though.

Re: Jethro Tull

^^I feel privileged to have seen them in their prime, I will never forget the chills that went up my spine when Ian Anderson waltzed on stage in a spotlight playing his acoustic guitar...

Re: Jethro Tull

^^He is one of my favourite talents on acoustic guitar, I watched in awe as he did My God on the Rock Island tour. Just brilliant.

Re: Jethro Tull

You have to wonder whether Ian Anderson has decided that, at least for the moment, the Ian Anderson Band is the musical vehicle for new songs and that Jethro Tull is the "greatest hits" band, not that I expect to see them on the golden oldies tours - yet. Which leads to another question: what is Martin Barre's role in any future set-up. Certainly Florian Opahle is a great guitarist and a superb substitute for Martin but like everybody else I would prefer Martin in the line-up with a fully fledged Tull band out there performing.

Time will tell but as Martin seems to be happy performing the "rock opera" Excalibur and doing his own thing, as it were, we may have less Tull, and more solo concerts in the future.

The concerts for 2011 should be up on the official Tull site very soon so we'll find out then and maybe judge what Ian anderson's intentions are for the future.

Re: Jethro Tull

^^You are right it would seem strange not to have Martin in the band if Ian does want to tour again.

Judging from what you said it sounds like for now they are all doing their own things and quite happy.

I read somewhere that Martin has had enough, don´t know if it´s true or not, but there´s a DVD out soon from 77.....Live At The London Hippodrome - Jethro Tull - Musik - CDON.COM

We´ve all seen it, but it IS great.

Well being 200 years old, I was lucky enough to be at the Aqualung tour and another 15 concerts :)

I guess I had a misplaced childhood.

Well The Lord is great !!!!!!

He payed me to say this ! :bump:

And not much !!!!!! :mad
