radioactive, the firm... you would've thought that i, kath, being a jimmy page fan AND a paul rodgers fan, would've loved this band. um, nope. this song has the single most annoying guitar riff in human history.

benny the bouncer, ELP... sure, some people think this song is whimsical and fun. i think it comes close to ruining a masterpiece of an album. kinda like what mark twain said about golf... it gets in the way of a good walk.

mother, the police... why did they hafta let andy write one? yet another album-killer-in-waiting.

Definitely agree on all of these. I just heard "Radioactive" yesterday on the radio and I remembered why I always hated that song - that ridiculous riff. What was Jimmy thinking?...and why did Paul Rodgers let him get away with it.

...on the other hand, Born To Run is one of VERY few Springsteen songs I like.
And I kinda dig The Crunge...and Fame.

Personally I love Kasmir by Led Zeppelin. Its one of my favorite songs and I never tire of hearing it. But I do not like to hear Rock and Roll and Black Dog... so overplayed!
Actually I haven't heard much from Zep lately. Id love to hear stuff from their first or second album!

one of the songs i cant stand listening to anymore is "Sweet Home Alabama" i dont care if it is a great song, i just find that its overplayed and it gets on my nerves every time i hear it.... other than that i also hate just about every Springsteen song... he's from nj and im from nj but i dont understand how everyone thinks he's talented... i think he sounds like an overrated garage band
Sweet Home Alabama is still massively overplayed and it actually bugs me because so many people define Skynyrd by that song only.
In most kareoke "books" there are only 2 Skynyrd songs to sing and those are "Sweet Home" and "Freebird", quite annoying.
Some other great Skynyrd songs should get more recognition and maybe by the band finally getting inducted into the Hall Of Fame they might see the light of day on more Classic Rock stations....Songs Like:
I Ain't The One
Cry For The Bad Man
Needle and The Spoon
Gimme Back My Bullets
You Got That Right
I Know A Little
Gimme 3 Steps
Sataurday Night Special

I agree, I'm burned out on "Sweet Home..." too - partially from having played it in a couple of different bands. Nowhere near Skynyrds best song.

A few others I'd like to hear more of -

Workin' For MCA
On The Hunt
Poison Whiskey

If it's in regular rotation on any Corporate Conglomerate "Classic Rock" station..... then there's a 98% chance I have already burned out on it a long-- time ago.. :D :D

Yeah, those are good ones and I haven't heard your last 2 picks for a longgggg time!
If I had to play Sweet Home Alabama on stage in a cover band I would probably break out in hives! :irish:

So, is anyone burnt out on "Blue Collar" by Bachman Turner Overdrive?

I'm not...actually this is a song I like a lot, so I shouldn't have even bothered posting on this thread about it...but I was just trying to think of a song that never gets played on classic rock radio.

No Rev, I never hear that one on the radio.....but I AM fed up with "Taking Care Of Business (massively overplayed), "Looking Out For Number One (ditto) and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" though the last one is the best of all three. ;)
