I have gained amusement in seeing what a negative reaction the pure mentioning of "disco" gets just about anywhere, but it is within my understanding that some of us are still just cheesy enough to dig it regardless.

So what are your top 10 disco tracks? Can you do it?

After much thought:

10. Night on Disco Mountain - David Shire
09. Upside Down - Diana Ross
08. A Fifth of Beethoven - Walter Murphy
07. Boogie Shoes - KC & The Sunshine Band
06. I Feel Love - Donna Summer
05. Dancing in the City - Marshall Hain
04. Night Fever - The Bee Gees
03. When I'm With You - Sparks
02. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) - ABBA
01. Tryouts for the Human Race - Sparks

I could go on to list well over 50. Disco kicks ass. ;D

You don't have to be cheesy to like disco. It's actually pretty good and it was made with musical instruments and not computers.

If these songs don't make you want to shake yo ass, you're probably dead!:)

You're defining disco as a beat therefore - because I can't see John Travolta grooving to any of those tracks in Studio 54. Not that there's anything wrong with the beat per se either.

Would it be ok if mine are all by Earth Wind & Fire? :D

No it would not. While disco came across as lightweight top forty material at the time, in retrospect it sounds great compared with the hiphop and Beyonce Knowles kind of dance pop that's played on the radio these days.

Disco is so much better than the nntz-nntz-nntz club music bullshit that's been the herpes of the music industry since at least the 90s. It all seems to have the same goddamned backbeat, with pointless lyrics. It's just a bunch of noise.

Club music/rave music and its simplicity were one of my ex's favourite things. I swear, it was something that drove me away from him almost right away. I probably would have strangled him if I had to listen to Venga Boys or Basshunter ever again. :heheh:

Bass Hunter has a good product line though. It'll help you catch the big ones in the headwaters of the Mississippi.

Only in the south would you actually find dudes fishing with rifles. Still waiting for the day when some crazy guy gets to be the president, and passes a law stating that if you want to fish, you have to put on a bear costume and catch those babies with your mouth and/or hands. If you're caught with your rod out (you can take that both ways if you want) you're under arrest and have to spend the next 8 months of your life working in an animal shelter.

It would be hilarious.
