Okay. Give me your list of the artists from the top twenty that you think the Doors would not beat and we'll see.

:****:

Well I see it like this:

Would Beat the Doors
The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
The Who
David Bowie
Pink Floyd
Queen
Jimi Hendrix

Could Beat the Doors
Bob Dylan
Elvis Presley
Nirvana
Prince

Wouldn't be the Doors
Michael Jackson
Bob Marley
Madonna
U2
The Beach Boys
Marvin Gaye
Stevie Wonder
James Brown

These parts of the list bother me greatly:
23. AC/DC
24. The Velvet Underground
25. Chuck Berry
26. Neil Young

56. KISS
57. Iggy & the Stooges

AC/DC beat the Velvets, Chuck, and Neil? And KISS beat the Stooges? For shame. I always forget that KISS is an actual band, and not a gigantic marketing gimmick...

I agree. AC/DC beat Radiohead, which does bother me. There's also this:

66. Justin Timberlake
67. Coldplay

No, just no. KISS is also better than Tom Petty, Cream, Coldplay, The Doors, R.E.M., Janis, and Rush according to these people.

So, pretty much every artist on this list that isn't from the 60's or 70's?

I cannot take any list of that nature seriously...way too many questionable selections in my view.:nw:

John Lennon at 31 is really bad, if its talking about his solo career.

His solo career was garbage.

I wouldn't go that far, John did some good songs on his own. I find it funny that Paul is below him on that prospective list, considering how successful he has been post Beatles.

Read it and weep...

Did every decade have crappy music? Sure!

But, in the 60's and 70's, the good outweighed the bad, by far and easily.

More than any other decade. (s)

I don't think any ''classic rocker'' would argue that.

:D
