Who cares as there are many glaring omissions, some most notable are...

Electric Light Orchestra (I thought ELO would definately make it based on the fact that they had a very cool and positive two minute segment on Vh1's "I Love the 70s Volume 2 1974" in 2006 I Love the '70s: Volume 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Chicago
The Spinners
Paul Simon
George Harrison

:mad

Nice to see Genesis though!

The Doors are way too low at #65 on the list. I count about fourteen artists in the top twenty that the Doors would probably beat in a poll on this forum.

That's easy, it'll be the Beatles. They always come out on top of these lists. All of those top 5 artists are very predictable. Dylan and MJ will make #2 and 3, although I'm not sure which they'd put first. #4 will probably be Zeppelin, 5 will be the Stones. It could very well be in the order up there.

How did Prince beat Elvis? I mean, I like Prince's music more than Elvis's but that doesn't mean he should outrank him.

I think you're being a tad presumptuous because I only count about 8 or 9.

I swear I'll riot if they rank Michael Jackson ahead of the Rolling Stones.

:wtf:

The day Michael Jackson died was the day The Stones lost any chance of beating him on a VH1 list.

Well, at least Genesis are higher than Notorious B.I.G :heheh:

I tend not to worry about these lists though, if they're not there from sheer sales then it's all in the opinion of the listmaker :)

These parts of the list bother me greatly:
23. AC/DC
24. The Velvet Underground
25. Chuck Berry
26. Neil Young

56. KISS
57. Iggy & the Stooges

AC/DC beat the Velvets, Chuck, and Neil? And KISS beat the Stooges? For shame. I always forget that KISS is an actual band, and not a gigantic marketing gimmick...
