From our town (Chesterfield) we have Saracen and former Motorhead drummer, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, oh and a couple from 80's pop bands The Thompson Twins and Then Jericho. I think that's about it!

Umm.... hmm.... well none are from my home town to my knowlege, we tend to produce surfers and iron men. Oh actually wait, we have Keith Urban, who despite being entirely impossible to listen to has probably sold more records than the rock gods that we all love.

Keith Urban is pretty cool...the guy can play the guitar :D

The biggest star of them all out there these days is from one town over from my own home town! Yes, Justin Bieber is from Stratford, Ontario which is a mere 35 miles from my home town of London. :grinthumb

Justin is the one on the left btw:

Hmmm, lets see. Well the father of the electric guitar - Les Paul hails from my second hometown of Waukesha, 5 minutes away.

Daryl Stuermer, longtime guitarist for Genesis still calls north Milwaukee his home. He shows up solo and sits in with numerous local bands quite frequently.

Adrian Belew (gutarist - King Crimsom and The Bears, producer) hails from Lake Geneva. I believe he has a recording studio down there as well.

Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) - Milwaukee

The Violent Femmes. Chrissie Hynde saw them playing on the sidewalk in our lovely East Side back in 81 and asked if they would open their Pretenders show that night at the Oriental Theatre. The rest is history.

Steve Miller, also from Waukesha.

Liberace- Milwaukee

Reed Kailing - Grass Roots, still makes his home in Milwaukee

Da Bodeans, Waukesha. Went to school with Sammy Llanas.

Numerous 60's bands whose names escape me for now.

Adelaide has a very diverse range of musicians hailing from here, I'm sure.

Unfortunately, I never pay much attention to which city bands are from. Sal might know some more, but here's just a couple who began their careers in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, not terribly far from where I live:

COLD CHISEL

Enuff Z'nuff
Off Broadway
Richard Marx

The Buckinghams
The Shadows Of Knight

Most of the time when I know of bands I say "Oh, they were from Adelaide?" then forget it even happened a few days later :heheh:

Well, my state of birth, and current state of residence, New Mexico has not produced much as aside from my uncle Eric McFadden (who has not yet risen to national prominence, but I would recommend that people look him up as he's an incredible guitar player who has played with the likes of George Clinton, Eric Burdon, and Joe Strummer among others), and an indie band called Beirut whose singer looks exactly like me.

I spent most of my life in Los Angeles, though, which has brought us such bands as:
Love
The Doors
The Byrds
Buffalo Springfield
Black Flag
X
The Germs
And many, many others...

Los Angeles also brought us the atrocity that is Motley Crue, and the entire genre of "Ear Rape" which is less often referred to as "Hair Metal."
