Halfway between the gutter and the stars
I think this is the thread for this, but honestly I haven't got the foggiest. Anyway thanks triple J, I heard this the other day and was bloody impressed.

Haven't heard him talked around here so i'll throw in the name The Tallest Man on Earth. One man folk show reminiscent of Bon Iver, early Bob Dylan, and even some Delta Blues. his album The Wild Hunt came out a few months ago and has gotten great reception from numerous reviewers.

Not bad TL! I admittedly will never be the biggest Dylan fan but I gave this a spin anyway because I wanted to try it out. I'm a fan of the new age of folk artist so I was extra curious. I do hear the Dylan comparison in this but it didn't bother me because the voice was actually kind of unique and didn't stay in the same place the whole song. I like vocals where there are cracks or just general character in the voice. :grinthumb It was a cool listen!

yeah even though the Tallest Man gets compared to Dylan all the time, i think he is far superior than Bob when it comes to the straight up Folk. its really hard to place my finger on why but there's a pretty noticeable difference between the two that just seals the deal for me

so do i take it you're a fan of Bon Iver also?

Honestly, I've always heard the name but never had the proper introduction. I tend to get into Damien Rice, David Ford and Foreverinmotion (who's finish an Americana influenced c.d.)! Any recommendations? :grinthumb

not sure why this doesn't attract me. It's right up my alley but I just don't like it.
