I went to see a Pink Floyd cover band recently and they were very good!!! They are from Adelaide I think. They call themselves the Australian Pink Floyd.

I saw Musical Box perform about 15 years ago, and they were incredible. They sounded like Gabriel-era Genesis, they looked like them, they even had the same type instruments and amps that Genesis used to use. The singer did all the crazy elaborate costume changes that Gabriel was famous for. I don't think that Musical Box could have been any better.

There is another LZ tribute band that is a lot of fun - an all girl band named *** Zeppelin. They don't sound that much like LZ, but they sound good and their shows are fun.

The Australian Pink Floyd are amazing. I've seen them on tv and was quite impressed with them. Great attention to detail in their performances/arrangements.

Saw an interesting item on ebay yesterday - "Their Hispanic Majesties Request"...a cd anthology of Hispanic bands doing Stones covers. I might have to order that one!

If you happen to live in the Adelaide area *watches everyone walk away* and are looking for a cheap night out to watch some live music, there's a very good George Harrison tribute show doing the rounds, and also a very good Roy Orbison one. I've been to both, and they were fantastic.

I can't remember what either of them are called, but remind me at some time other than 3 in the morning and I may be able to find out

All of which were totally awesome and the next best thing to the real band(s)

The Keith Moon guy is a dead ringer for the real Keith WOW!!

Led Zepagain is a great one. I really get a kick out of the lead singer who doesn't sing or look anything like Robert Plant. The guitarist is pretty dang amazing though. He plays Page just like Jimmy did. He doesn't improvise at all. Gotta give him many many props for that and the Page impersonation.

I know it's cheezy, but not enough people know about Dread Zeppelin. They play Led Zeppelin/Elvis mash-ups with a Elvis vocal impersonator and reggae rock steady grooves.

I once saw a THIN LIZZY tribute band years ago maybe over 20 years ago now in the late 1990s called LIMEHOUSE LIZZY in the back of a pub one Saturday night in Putney in south west London and they were pretty good I seem to recall. The main vocalist and bass player was a dark skinned dude (just like Philo was) and he had two exceptionally long haired guitarist's either side of him and of course a drummer scrubbing & tubbing at the back.

I can't remember exactly what numbers they played but it was probably all the songs that you would expect Thin Lizzy to play from there Live And Dangerous era album 1976-78 although I do remember the guy who assumed Phil Lynott's role as main vocalist and bass player telling the gathered crowd between songs that the were going to play a number that they didn't usually play live off "our Nightlife album" cheeky sod lol ha ha ha...

I enjoyed the evening a lot.
