the reason i mentioned chicago is because an exmember who died was my godfather and plus all the original members used to come over to our house for dinner.i was a baby then so i don't remember this at all.

Well, I used to really like Chicago when I was in high school. I think I just got burnt out on their songs or something.

Maybe it's because it's been a while since I listened to their music that I remember they were very good and most definitely good enough for the Hall of Fame. Time to go listen to some Chicago now...25 or 6 to 4 was always a fave of mine.

Based souly on their work in the 1970s, they should definately be picked for the hall of fame. Their work in the 70s was phenominal. I don't understand why they were not picked yet.

That wouldn't be their amazing guitarist Terry Kath now? The band went nowhere after he died. Commercially they did better but musically they sucked.

Agreed. I checked out some Chicago and yes, they are as good as I remember they were.

Then again the Hall of Fame isn't known for it's logic when it comes to who gets inducted and when. People scream popularity is the reason but you'd think if that was the basis, Chicago would have been chosen a while ago as well since I remember playing their songs in band in high school at football games and they were everywhere. They're almost a soundtrack for my high school years!

No way! How can you deny the legendary AOR classics between '82 and '84?

Also - Chicago gave us "If You Leave Me Now" in 1976. If anything, they toughened up their sound in the 80s.
