That was an interesting article.....I agree with him in that if one only used strict definitions of 'rock' players it would become a very limited group of artists through the years......rock n roll came out of R and B and other influences as well, but I think they have moved out of the genre too much also by including some rap and country people as well as jazz artist Miles Davis who I am a fan of btw.

It doesn't make sense that some iconic artists and bands that have been eligible for years to enter the RRHOF are ignoredor despised and magically put Eminem?? or Missy Elliot?? or others before them. Some of them multiplatinum as well if they are seeking comertial relevance too.It is not about the subjective definition of what Rock n'Roll is or is not, nor about the personal tastes of each one. Induct a dog in the Cat's HOF and say it was because they are all mammals it is just wrong.

What...does he need tattoos, a beard ,long hair, and look unwashed to know rock music...?

That is not the point. In addition, the bad image in itself is carried by them. No need ZZ Top beards. It seems that old school artists are not cool anymore. They seek woke oriented nowadays and carry the aesthetic more trendy typical of hip hop than of Rn'R. They are the confused ones. They don't fool anyone.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
Now I'm in my 60s...I'm fairly comfortable in my own skin.. I've been digging the likes of Link Wray and Gravy Train for almost half a century... Without any help from these gombeens!
Listen to Iceberg by Deke Leonard or Stuck in Gear by Link Wray (on YT) these remain on my MCHOF(mancave hall of fame) minus help from some paranoid anti r.acist do-gooder!
