And how about to rate the song posted above yours? That's the rules of this thread.
An amazing folk-song. Sounds really authentic, very interesting band. 9/10. It's sad, that David Lamb died so early. R.I.P.

Sorry about that. You are right, I did not post rating on that song. It is just a subjetive opinion, i personally don't like to do it. I don"t like in particular ROLLING STONE magazine "music conosseurs"do that so easily on everything.
I would say 6.5/10. This song remains me of Paul Young's "Everytime you go away" and some Roxette song. I don't dig much on it.

Very proggy but in a contemporary way with lots of keyboards. Not really my thing. 5/10

I always preferred The Beat to any other ska revival band, The late Ranking Roger and 'the shuffle' on bass....not forgetting Daves teardrop Vox.
The flowing beat bumbles along better than it's neighbouring Mirror in the Bathroom... Gotta be10/10.
David Nolan on violin here... the superb Lark Ascending.

Excellent polyphonic composition. I like it's tranquility, meditative mood and great string parts. It has many memorable moments. 9/10. :good

Oh I like Eric Carmen. I know of his bigger hit, but this was the first time hearing this one. Really nice instrumentation in this love song. 7.5/10

Since childhood I adored the clarity in her voice ('The Black Hills Of Dakota' is just divine)... this version is excellent and betters the ska version. 9/10.
Gene McDaniels.
