What a piece of plastic!
The A and B side allude to the loss of Mick Ralphs guitar... sadly not heard on the wireless today, as spade is uttered. Great how songs educated us back then-don't think there was a kid in the class who didn't know where Oriole was after bagging this 45.

Of course we are talking about a time here when work paid out in cash... on a Thursday! ( which enabled another additional drinking night!)
Often I'd take the long way home, via early doors at the bar and stagger home with a warm Chinese take-out and a fumbled attempt at setting the alarm for Friday morning.. even though I broke the company record for 17 consecutive Friday 'sick' days.... I'd work thru a hangover on a Saturday at double time and head for the cure at 2pm.
This song takes me back to night's in The Poets Corner pub(you needed 3 previous convictions to drink there!)
In you'd stroll for a pint and you'd walk out with 3 sides of beef-2 gallons of white emulsion and a set of jump leads... such was the clientele!!

Happy Days..
The Damned - New Rose.

Checked the other day, I've got stacks of Link Wray white label singles and even a Link & Robert Gordon 78rpm!
Anyroad.... this on V.irgin (link was the second artist to be released on the newly formed V.irgin Records - Tubular Bells just pipped him at about 5 billion sales!
Link Wray - Bojack.
(edit nonsense prevents me from posting V.IRGIN!)
