This is an interesting topic for a POST.
I thought they should have waited a while after releasing the BACK in BLACK album.
Some Bands, such as STATUS QUO, had very little or no control over their career.
Between 1968-1983 STATUS QUO released an album every year.
Their 1982 & 1983 albums were patchy with a few gems on both albums.
Their original Drummer left in 1981, must've known what was coming - John 'Spud' Coghlan
Original Bass player/Singer left in disgust in 1984, he returned to open LIVE AID though in 1985 - Alan ' Nuff ' Lancaster RIP
Lancaster & Coghlan were disgruntled with poor Record Co. decisions & Cocaine turning Rossi into a dictator.
In 1981, AC/DC's Record Co. may have coerced them into rushing out another album.
The Band may've had a Contract that forced them into releasing the album.
In general, they're not a Band that have consistently released quality material.
Some of it is really good and some is embarrassing.
" Danger, Danger don't talk to Strangers " is an example of embarrassing.
An AC/DC song that I feel is under rated is HEAT SEEKER.
After the collapse of STATUS QUO & the acrimonious court cases, the renegade QUO produced some absolutely disgusting rubbish in the mid-late 80's.
In 1991, Francis Rossi produced one of the best Rock albums ever made.
"Rock 'til You Drop " is a sublime and superb album.
Then Rossi's 'renegade, pretend' QUO fell back into mediocrity for the rest of the 90's.
From 2000 onwards they have miraculously produced some of the best Rock albums ever made.
As one of QUO's biggest fans, I'm also their biggest critic.
" Hotter than a Rolling Dice, Cooler than a Body on Ice, ..........I'm a LIVEWIRE, (livewire) I'm a LIIIVE....WIRE "
Bon Scott was AC/DC 09/07/1946- 19/02/1980 - RIP Bonnie Ronnie
