LITTLE FEAT - 'Feats Don't Fail Me Now'

View attachment 213533
I don't know what it is about Little Feat but I've tried on a number of occasions to 'get into this band' down the years and even have a number of there albums in my cd collection but I still can't get into them?. Some of their songs off Dixie Chicken and Sailing Shoes and Feats Don't Fail Me Now and The Last Record are pretty good but I think the band aren't that 'visually exciting' enough for me with Lowell George 'the focal point' playing langued slide guitar fills with the rest of the guys just standing around picking plus I don't like the New Orleans flavour of some of the songs.

A guitar playing guy that I use to know back in 2000 really rated Little Feat and was ALWAYS playing their stuff.

This song, Richie Havens’, “Freedom”, “Going Home”, Ten Years After and Hendrix’s “Star Spangled Banner” are my stand out performances from the Woodstock collection.

@Keith Richards - Tight playing and exceptional songwriting are what made this band incredible. Lowell George was a truly gifted musician that could make the mundane sound sublime, to my ear anyway.
I agree with your assertion that the band is not visually exciting, but then they are all exceptional musicians rather than showmen.
"While rolling off a list of esteemed guitar players that he admires, Page casually dropped in the nugget of information that he considers the longstanding and somewhat cult band Little Feat as his “favourite American group” of all time." That must count for their credibility as a band. (see full article: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/led-zeppelin-jimmy-page-favourite-band-of-all-time/)
I stand with your guitar playing friend.
