KLAATU -
'3:47 E.S.T.'
Now this is quite a famous album in its own little way...
Released in 1976 it was touted by rock journalists as being
The Beatles reformed and incognito, which it quite clearly wasn't.
I really can't see that. Although some of the orchestration and harmonies might sound a little Beatles-esque, the vocals don't sound anything like the nasal twang of the Fab Four.
What you do get for your money is some nice pop/prog tunes from a Canadian band which I very much like and play regularly.
The version that I have these days is a beautiful vinyl (still in its shrink-wrap) bought on holiday in Amsterdam back in September 2018.
Oh, and music aficionados will recognise the opening track,
'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft' as being a smash hit for
The Carpenters back in the day; well, this is the original version whence they nicked it.
I shall be playing the follow-up album next...
