Re: Camel

ah the fabulous Andy Latimer and Camel. Great band with quite a few great albums. The four album run in the 70's of Mirage, Snow Goose, Moonmadness, Raindances is their best work. All four albums are excellent. Breathless is a more poppy album but still very good. I also recommend Camel's Harbor of Tears and their 2002 album Nod and a Wink.
Andy Latimer has always been a very underated guitarist I was quite impressed with their live show in 2003 at NEARfest

Re: Camel

I did try `Snow Goose' a few years back. I`m mystified as to why I could never get into it back in the day. Perhaps I had found them too jazzy for my liking but after seeing these above videos, Camel are a band worth revisting.

Re: Camel

I'll add another of their best early albums that hasn't been posted in here yet. 1976's concept album "Moonmadness". Under pressure to produce a more commercially viable album from their label, like their contemporaries Pink Floyd etc., Camel released this record. It's a concept album too, but a little more mainstream than Snow Goose. The original four members each had a song to represent themselves in a musical sense, Chord Change is Peter Bardens, Air Born is Andy Latimer, Lunar Sea is Andy Ward, and Another Night is Doug Ferguson. I like this record a lot, I owned the vinyl and now have the CD.

Lunar Sea.

Camel is one of those bands I put on when I'm reading, or just lounging around being a bum...:D

Moonmadness is my second favourite, Song Within A Song, Chord Change and Lunar Sea are epic and fantastic tracks! :grinthumb

Re: Camel

I have "Mirage" in my library so far and I love that album. Actually wondering how I haven't land my hands on other albums because I love Mirage so much. Shame on me x)
