It can but most albums aren't anywhere close to being that good. Most albums are nothing more than a collection of songs. In fact, most albums are a couple of good songs and a bunch of filler.- troggy

Interesting, if albums had been important in the 50's, I wonder if you'd dig the sound as much. The rise in the importance of albums was one of the driving forces that changed the production techniques you like so much. Nobody said that you shouldn't be biased anyway. If you like the music of a particular era for its overall sound or even if it just brings back fond memories, there's no disgrace in that kind of bias.- troggy

That is fair and I don't really expect many folks here to share my view. When you talk about someone like B.B. King, do you like his 50's material or more his more recent stuff? Like rock and roll, there's a pretty big difference how blues sounded in the 1950's compared to more modern blues...- troggy
