Yep, those dreaded mid 80's production techniques... FOTW did have several cool tunes, marred by that echo-ish production you described, BUYV, to me was just not up to par, material-wise, Stiff Upper Lip has a good warm, back to basics/live immediacy/ type of sound, but I can't honestly say...

indeed, Garage Days Revisited was nice at the time, they expanded on that with a really nice batch of covers for Inc. Very good album.

Ahh, I already said I dismissed "The Axl Rose Project" version of them :)

I think Duvall sort of confirms how important Cantrell's vocals were integral to the band. It's almost as if anyone who harmonizes with Jerry can muster up that magical dynamic, not to put down Duvall. He's deserving of any praise, and I'm glad AIC is still around.

Fly On the Wall, Blow Up Your Video, and Stiff Upper Lip are pretty much useless to my ears. Sorry. Everything else has its purpose in their canyon.

    Guns N' Roses (Official Thread)

They were a paradox. Vile, Explicit, Honest, Real, Unreal, they could channel the Sex Pistols and write better love songs than any of their contemporaries. This dynamic was unheard of at the time. And it's timeless. "The Axl Rose Band" version of the last decade doesn't even count to me. A...

BMR .. Black Market Radio (Chris Cornell's brother)

Anyone like em? Heard of em? they have Pete Cornell (Chris's brother) as singer/guitarist, and you can tell. Hope to turn a few Cornell/SG/Audioslave fans onto something nice and familiar. :)

Review The Cars - The Cars (1978)

From a quality standpoint, it never got any better than this, from a production standpoint the SQ of Candy-O is reference quality to me, the debut deserves it's place in the 100 Greatest albums of all time. IMO
